Creative Outlet 2024-25 Policies

Program dates:

The 2024-25 season begins September 2024
and runs until the recital June 2025

Tuition payments:
Fees are divided into 10 equal monthly payments and are
based on 30 classes from September to June. Registration
fee and first month are due at the time of registration. All fees include GST.

Fee payment:

Registration is online with fees paid by automatic charge to credit card.

Placement:

Dancers will be placed by the studio at a level appropriate for their age and ability. Age cut-off is Nov 1st.

Registration closing date:

Registration closes for all regular 10month programs by January 31st.

Dress wear:

We ensure that recital costumes are always appropriate, and ask that parents use the same consideration when dressing their dancers for class. Please see the studio dress code for guidelines, noting that bra tops are not considered appropriate class wear. We have many options for affordable classwear available in our in-studio dance boutique, as well local dance shops Teddy Bear Dreams and Jazzmatazz.

Year End Recital:

All classes are featured in a June recital. All dancers are required to attend with their group as needed. Both rehearsal and shows are at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Tickets for this special showcase are offered for sale in May.

Attitude & Sportsmanship:

Positive attitude towards self, peers, faculty and staff is expected at all times.

Class Photos:

Class photos are taken by a professional photographer. We ask that all dancers attend for the class photo. Purchase is optional. Average pkg cost is $35.

Recital Video:

Studio policy prohibits photography or video recording during the recital. A videographer is contracted by the studio to provide professional recording, editing and duplicating services. Video files are available for registered families via digitally after recital, and are approx $20 for access to the link.

Costumes:

Costumes for recreational classes range $80-$100 including accessories (before tax). Costumes for competitive and demi-competitive classes range from $80-$150 and may have an additional set or props use fee may apply for stage classes. Non-refundable $65 deposit for each recreational costume is due Nov 15. Competitive and Demi-competitive deposits are $75 each class and due October 1. Balance is due upon receipt. All efforts are made to ensure costumes are suitable, appropriate and flattering for all ages and body types in the class. Costumes are yours to keep after the show.

Discipline:

The studio reserves the right to withdraw a dancer at any time during the season if repeated problems with attendance, attitude or behavior are not rectified through discussion with the dancer and parent. This includes injuries that may require prolonged period of rest and non-participation in class. There will be no refunds in such an event.

Withdraw:

One month’s written notice is required for withdraw with no fee incurred.

Refunds:

Registration fee is non-refundable. Costume deposits are non-refundable.

Pro-D Days & holidays:

Classes are held as usual on Pro-D days. Classes are not held on most statutory holidays. We follow the public school calendar, observing Christmas and Spring Break accordingly.

Cancellation/Combination:

The studio reserves the right to cancel or combine classes based on enrollment.

Make up classes:

Classes are cancelled or postponed as a last resort (weather or instructor illness). Makeup classes will be offered when necessary to fulfill the guaranteed 30 classes. If makeup classes are not possible, then credit for the time missed will be applied to accounts.

Attendance:

Attendance at classes, dress rehearsal and year end recital is mandatory. Dance Team members should note that attendance and participation in all classes is required. Non-participation or absence of any class may result in the dancer being benched from a group or competition. This is done at the instructor and director’s discretion. If a dancer is not able to attend in person due to illness, no refunds will be issued. Participation via Zoom may be made possible for competitive classes.

CO 2024/2025 fees;
Dance fees are based on the total hours taken, and are based on 30 classes over 10months (you pay the same in December when there are less classes due to the holiday break, as you do in November when there is one extra week) and INCLUDE GST. There are discounts built into this fee structure for multiple classes.
