DANCE
Jenna’s love of dance began at the young age of 3 where she began with a music and movement program in her small town in Ontario. From that point on there was no stopping the passion she had for dance.
Continuous training and examinations in Cecchetti ballet and CDTA tap & jazz as well as attending an arts high school, majoring in drama, led Jenna to joining a touring musical theatre company as well as being chosen as dance captain for the company – touring Toronto, Kingston and various other locations in Ontario. In addition to her training at her local studio Jenna actively trained in Toronto, New York City and Australia with many renowned teachers and choreographers and continued this training well into her 20’s. In addition to her dance and theatre training, Jenna also took part in piano, vocal and music theory exams.
In 2003 Jenna was accepted into York University’s Dance program where she graduated with honours in 2006. In addition to the dance technique classes, rehearsals and performances, she chose to take her elective classes in Dance and the Child, Dance Kinesiology, Dance Injuries and Pedagogy classes. She then opened her own dance studio in Belleville ON. Jenna considers herself a constant student and still took time to train herself in order to continue to give her students current, interesting and challenging classes and choreography.
Jenna’s love for dance really grew as an instructor. Continually going to teacher’s workshops to broaden her skills and knowledge to bring only the best for her students. She was asked to choreograph for many local events and her choreography was awarded both by community and competition.
